Catherine Dumur, PhD, HCLD(ABB)
Bernhardt Laboratories, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology is privileged to include Catherine Dumar, Ph.D., as a member of its medical staff. Dr. Dumar brings with her decades of professional experience in the field of high-throughput cancer genomics, its application in molecular diagnostics, and its implications in biobanking.
Dr. Dumur received her Master of Science degree in Biological Chemistry and her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina. She was a postdoctoral fellow at National Research Council Argentina and at Department of Pathology, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
During her tenure as a faculty member of the Department of Pathology, and as a Professor of Pathology, she served as the Associate Director of the Molecular Diagnostics (MDx) laboratory at Virginia Commonwealth University; as well as the Co-Director of the institutional biorepository, the Tissue & Data Acquisition & Analysis Core (TDAAC). More recently, Dr. Dumur served as Director of Molecular, NGS Development, for Bernhardt Laboratories.
For more than a decade, Dr. Dumur has been a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology, as well as the American Association for Cancer Research. She has authored and co-authored 86 published articles in a range of prestigious scientific journals.
